Welcome!

Welcome to our new blog! I had so much fun updating news, reflections, and photos on our pregnancy blog as we awaited the arrival of our little one that I have decided to begin a new blog for our new family. Last Tuesday, December 29, 2009 at 11:34AM, we welcomed our daughter into the world! Weighing in at 6 lbs, 12.6 oz, and measuring 20 inches long, we named her: Julia Rian.

These first few days at home as a newly expanded family have been incredible and we have loved every little second of it. Julia has stole our hearts completely and we are so grateful for her to have joined us. We're already learning her little personality traits, like how she loves to be held, and isn't a huge fan of being put down. And, how she seems to truly love every new experience that we introduce her to (...even if she may cry at first) - like rocking in her swing, having a bath, going for car rides, shopping, getting kisses from her "big sister," Delaney, listening to music and her crib mobile, and meeting new friends and family. She has an entire repertoire of facial expressions that never fail to make us smile. And, this child loves to smile!! We know "they" say babies' first smiles come later on, but not our daughter - she truly does smile - and I believe it's connected to emotion even just at days old. :) Here are a few of her many silly faces:

Tomorrow Julia will be one week old! And, I plan to update here with bunches of photos and videos from our first week together - so please check back soon!

And, once again - THANK YOU so very much for all of your continued support and excitement for us as we progressed through our pregnancy and eventually made it to Julia's birth. We are very grateful for having such loving, caring, and supportive family and friends in our lives - thanks for being there! We can't wait for her to some day meet each and every one of you!
